Question:
So Thirsty

All weekend long I haven't been able to get enough to drink. I have been able to put away well over the 64 ounces that my dietician suggests, but I'm still so thirsty. I have also started running a fever and my urine output is terrible in quantity and color. I went to my PCP yesterday to get some labs done because this is starting to freak me out, but so far no results. HELP! Any ideas?    — Rachel W. (posted on October 15, 2002)

Hi, it sounds like you might have a urinary tract infection. Call and f/u w/ your doc, don't wait for them to call you. Be sure you get the liquid antibiotics. The thirst is probably caused from a low grade fever. Good luck.
