Question:
I am also interested in knowing if ANY of the advertised skin
I KNOW at my age I will have LOTS of hanging skin, and my insurance will NOT cover ANY plastic surgery. Is there any way — Diane R. (posted on October 13, 2002)

I'm scheduled to have WLS on 11/11. However, I know that some insurances
have paid for removal of hanging skin if that skin presents a health risk.
From what I've read, lots of hanging skin, particularly in the apron area,
can produce yeast infections and large rashes that are easily irritated due
to the skin on skin contact and lack of air. If you have a situation like
this perhaps your insurance will pay. Good luck!!

My tummy tuck, breast lift and thigh lift were covered by insurance. Deemed
medically necessary for a variety of reasons. Insurance won't pay for
PLASTIC or cosmetic surgery but will often cover RECONSTRUCTIVE surgery,
which is what we end up needing. hugs, Ann rny 9/10/99 260/130
