Leslie my darlin I have had a terrible time with insomnia. I am not a
person that naps much but everyday about 3pm I am about as limp as an
overcooked noodle and I have to sleep a little bit I don't know if that is
the problem or what but I have dark circles under my eyes I am not sleeping
well at all. I have my 2 week postop appt today and am going to talk to
him about it. How long post op are you. I hope that it gets better. I
exercise I walk a mile a day now and I do quite a bit around the house so I
am not even being a slug.
Good luck to you!

I did experience insomnia shortly after my surgery. I would wake up in the
middle of the night and be wide awake. It drove me crazy. I would get up
and come to this board. I can't remember how long it lasted, but it did go
away. I have also seen lots of posts about this so it must be normal.

YES! It was terrible, but only lasted about 4 weeks. Now I sleep better
than ever, and wake up very refreshed! Your body went through alot of
trauma and this is normal.

OH YEAH!!! It was the worst few weeks of my life! I could only sleep for a
few hours and then I would be wide awake. Trust me, though, it only lasts a
few weeks tops. Mine just started getting gradually better. My the fourth
week, I was sleeping through the night. Now at almost 6 weeks, I am
sleeping better than ever! I don't even snore anymore, says my hubby. Know
that things will get better!

I also suffered from insominia, for about 6 wks from surgery. Mine was I
couldnt get to sleep and just toss and turn for hours. I finally would
take tylenol pm gel caps and would sleep like a baby. If you do this start
with just one caplet, and that might just do the trick.

I had insomnia for about 2 weeks after surgery. Then one night I didn't
take my dose of Roxicet, and I slept like a baby. If you can tolerate it,
try not taking your pain meds (if you are still on them). It sure helped
me!
