For me, it means I am going to thow up...lol. But sometimes, it happens
to me when I eat too much. I get two pretty severe hiccups then it stops.
It's annoying more than anything...good luck

Yep, like Barbe, to me it means I'm full.

Same for me... that's the way I tell when I've eaten enough... if I go past
that point sometimes even with just a bite or two I dump... It's a great
way to control the quantity of what I eat. Now I don't always eat til I
hic-up but sometimes I do...

I am a little over a year post op and have had hic-ups often. I know for me
it means I ate a little too much, a little too fast than tried to do
something right afterwards (Like water my garden.). If I slow down a bit
eating (very hard for me to do...that always has been an issue) and sit for
awhile to let it start to digest, I can avoid the hic-ups. Best of luck to
you! -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -122

Hi David! I'm almost a year post op (down 152lbs) and that's when I know
I'm full...I get two or three good hiccups and they quit...It's been like
that since I had surgery.

Me too!! If your looking up in the library for more info, I believe it is
spelled hiccoughs also. I get them every day. Its always just a few, and
for me it means that I am full. It happens even when I DON'T eat too fast
or too much, so I know that it is just my pouch expanding and pushing
against the diaphram. Sometimes I forget that I had surgery, but those
darned hiccups always remind me. But I will take that instead of all the
co-morbidities that I had previous to surgery.

For me, too, it indicates that I am full. Kinda comes in handy. :)

I agree with all the posts...I get 2-3 good ones and that tells me I'm a
satisfied and happy camper!

Ok, I always get one or two LOUD hic ups after I eat. If I eat slow or
not. If I eat too fast or too much the hic ups are worse and it usually
means I am going to puke after :P Congrats on you weight loss!!

I never knew that it was as common as this! I always get the hiccups after
eating, and they are loud but just a few of them! nice to know what it
means now..but usually I don't get them until after I have put the fork
down.
