Question:
Are they better?....
Do the liquid vitamins make you nausiated? Are they better than tabs or capsules? And how much in advance should a person begin to take Biotin just to head of the hair loss? — Vicki R. (posted on August 7, 2002)

Personally, I think liquid vitamins taste like $#@%^. They made me throw up
everytime. I waited until I was 8 weeks post op to start taking regular
ones. Maybe not a good idea but I wasn't able to keep the liquid ones down
anyway. They are very expensive to just be wasted. I am 8 months post op
and I take 3 capsules of 500mg Calcium CITRATE that I get from
vitalady.com. For a multi, I still chew children's , I take a B-12
subligual, Carbonal Iron (Sundown brand available at Wal Mart, very small)
and I take 2400mg of Biotin daily. I would suggest you take Biotin as soon
as possible. I started taking mine AFTER I started losing my hair and it
didn't help. Taking it BEFORE it starts is probably the way to go. I got my
Biotin at GNC, You can buy one bottle and get the second at 50% off.

I started immediately on childrens chewable vitamins (Flintstones
Complete-2 a day) and 6 months later, I still take them-one, I don't like
pills, and 2, they taste pretty good! For calcium citrate, I do take a
liquid-a creamy bitter orange tasting liquid that I purchase thru
www.tropicaloasis.com - 1 tablespoon a day. As for the biotin, I don't
think anything works either pre-or post hair loss stage to slow down or
stop it. Its caused by a combination of trauma to the body from surgery
and the lack of protein early on. Hair loss will occur in just about all
of us for a few months. But take heart, I've not heard of anyone going
bald, and it does grow back! (Still waiting for mine to grown back, but
the loss has stopped).

Hi! i agree, liquids are awful. But the big bullets hurt my stomach. I was
switched to Spectravites[CVS brand]after 4 weeks with Fred and Irma but I
had to switch again to adult chewables. Spectravites and Centrum both have
a chewables, and they aren't as sweet as Flintstones. calcium is another
story.I haven't found a chewable Citrate yet, still looking.
