Question:
Scheduled for surgery/prior to getting insurance approval?

A month ago I received a letter back saying I did not have enough documented medically supervised diet attempts. I went back to my PCP and got additional medical records and sent them in. Friday I was contacted at 5:30 p.m. and scheduled for surgery. It was so unexpected since I have not heard from the office saying that insurance would approve. I plan on calling the office on Monday a.m. but just thought it was very unusual that they would schedule me? Maybe just a lack of communication but shouldn't I have received something? Call the insurance company and find out if they've approved you. That's the only way to know for sure.
