Question:
I get low blood sugar right before that time of month.

Carol, I had low blood sugar problems before and after surgery. I started having panic attacks because my sugar dropped so low after sugery. I made sure it was alright, and I started to have a little something between meals. It only took a small bite or two of jello on clear liquids and when I went to the full liquids, I just mixed a little sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast and Soy Milk and drank a little of that in between meals. The best way to control low blood sugar is with protein. Eating sugar actually causes all kinds of problems with low blood sugar. The protein keeps the sugar levels higher without causing the spikes that sugar causes.
