Hi, I have lupus and I went into a flare immediately following the surgery
but eight weeks later I am back to baseline. I did see my rheumatologist a
couple of weeks after surgery just for a quick check up and pep talk. Maybe
you should call your specialist to get some reassurance, too. Good luck and
feel better!

I have an autoimmune disease also, Lupus. The surgery and rapid weight loss
have sent me into a flare up. My Dr. said that as my weight loss slows down
and my body adjusts, I should improve. It's been 4 months now and I'm still
waiting... I'd still have the surgery though if I had it to do all over
again. I'm down 112 lbs. in 7 months and even with the flare-up, my
mobility has improved significantly.

I have not had the surgery but I do know of a natural supplement called
OPC-3 that has been helping numerous people with autoimmune diseases. I
personally know one person who had lupus and her Dr. said she is now
"CURED" from the disease. After having her routine tests
everything came back negative to the disease after taking OPC-3 and two
other supplements everyday for several months. You are welcome to email
me, [email protected] if you want more info. Patti S. RN
