Question:
I just got my galbladder ultrasound results and it said my galbladder was fine
but that I have a fatty liver. Will this stop my surgery? What does that mean? — Cassy H. (posted on April 18, 2002)

The fatty liver is probably caused by the extra weight you're carrying.
When I had my post op tests done, my liver was fatty. Now, 8 weeks later
and minus 50 lbs, my liver is starting to look normal again! You'd be
amazed at how much the extra weight affects us! Good luck, don't worry and
always go to your surgeon/doctor with questions!

No, you should be fine. I was told by my physician that a high percentage
of obese people have fatty liver. This condition will be improved with
weight loss.

Just a comment on the Gall Bladder. All my Gall Bladder tests came back
normal too....I asked the surgeon to remove it anyway. After the gall
bladder was removed and sent to the lab for review it was found that it was
filled with stones! I am glad it was taken out!
