I was a little sensitive to fruits in the first month or so post-op, but after that, not sensitive at all. I love fruit - much more so now than I ever did pre-op.

I love fruit. Even in my puree stage I would puree cantaloup and watermelon and freeze it and take little bites and let it melt in my mouth.. yummy. I eat strawberries and all berries, the sugar and tiny seeds don't bother me at all. I hope it works out the same for you.

I have'nt had any problems with fruit, although fruit juices can be a problem with their high sugar content.

I have a hard time with grapes. I love the way they taste but about 15 min after I eat them I start shaking and get the clammy feeling. I now think I will stay away from them.

i have been eating fruit since my first day at home. my dr said to eat a balanced diet. if the fruit has a tuff skin (apples & pears) i peel it off. i also drink 100% juice, but, not the same day i have a fruit. i also stagger the days i have fruit or juice. the natural sugars still have a tendency to stop or slow ur weight loss so i only have fruits 3 or 4 days a week. i havent tried grapes or cherries yet because they r usually very very sweet & i am afraid it will make me dump. i buy bananas while they r still mostly green & as soon as they turn yellow i start eating them. if they get to the speckled or brown stage (usually this is when they r sweetest) i freeze them & use them in cheesecake or protein drinks.

At 5 weeks post-op, I'm not having any problem with fruit. So far, I've eaten mandarin oranges, honeydew, cantaloupe, and banana. I do not drink fruit juices, however.

Fruits make me dump but i found that if I eat my protein first then I can tolerate fruit as a dessert. Same with carbs, I have to eat my protein first otherwise I dump(hypoglycemic reaction). I'm 7months out and still learning what food combinations work for me, its a totally new lifechanging occurance. I used to think I'd die without simple carbs-bread/pasta/rice type of thing but now I avoid them like the plague, I'd rather have my carbs in vegetable form. I can't believe how my food choices have changed. I have no regrets except not having the surgery sooner.

I haven't had problems with fruit and it is great to combine with cheese or deli meat to make a quick meal. I also like apples with peanut butter! Bananas turn me off but then I have never really liked them anyway. Watermelon is now the BEST! (BTW lap rny)
