Question:
I have my consultation next week what can I expect next?

I am using Dr. Gorospe in Tulsa. My consultation is next week. What can I expect next? Who schedules the pre-op appointments? I have United Healthcare, does it cover the pre-op appointments or should I wait for sugery approval to set up the pre-op appts?    — Dana D. (posted on February 15, 2002)

Hi, Dana. Dr. Gorospe did my surgery almost 3 weeks ago. He's a very fine Dr. On your consultation next week when you go in they wait until the whole group gets there and they take you into another room and have a group meeting. Dr. Gorospe explains the procedure and then he answers any questions anyone has. Then they take you back to his office and he sees you one at a time and talks to you about your present medical problems, whether he feels you need surgery or not, etc. Then the next time you see him will be after your surgery. They had me knocked out before he even come into the surgery room. He is a very nice Dr. You will really like him. Good Luck on your upcoming consultation.
