Question:
If you don't have stretch marks will your skin will bounce back better?

that is how it was explained to me. My doctor said that skin that has been
stretched to the point of stretch marks is kinda beyond hope. The
elasticity is gone. I have lots on my stomach and he said if I want it gone
I will need a tummy tuck. I am praying the rest of my skin will be fine
though! I won't know until I get there. I have surgery on Feb. 13th!!!!
Good Luck.

I can only tell you my personal experience. I had terrible stretch marks
all over my breasts and midsection, down to my abdomen. After a 75-pound
loss, my skin is shrinking back just fine, and the stretch marks seem to be
fading, too. This is quite a relief, since I am at the age where the skin
supposedly begins losing its elasticity.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with that doctor. I think your age has
a lot to do with it as well as how healthy you are, how long your skin has
been over-stretched and to what degree it was stretched. I've seen women
who are 100lbs heavier than me and don't have a single stretch mark. Some
people are just more prone to stretch marks. There are plenty of skinny
people with them, and they don't seem to have a loose skin problems. I had
really deep stretch marks on my tummy. I've had them since I was 18 (9
years ago)and had my daughter, and with the weight gain over the years,
they've gotten worse and worse. After surgery I lost 75 pounds, my tummy
was flat again with no loose skin what so ever. So I'm not sure if stretch
marks are a true indication of whether or not the skin will bounce back.
