Question:
Has any one else lost there Boobs?
Funny question but... I had open RNY 7 months and have lost 120 lbs.. which I am very happy with, but I have also lost my boobs as well, all I have now is hanging skin... has anyone else had this problem and what to do about it.... Lost never to be found !! I lost a large amount of weight a couple years
ago and also lost my boobs !! I gained back 90 lbs and my boobs returned !!
Well this time the weight will be gone forever and sadly to say I'll be
back to two pieces of skin hanging from my chest. I cant even wear nice
bras because the skin just wrinkles up and doesn't fill out the bra. I
told my husband after all my weight is gone,be prepared to pay for a BOOB
JOB !! This is just one little sacrifice we make to be healthy .

Me three! I had surgery on 5/7/01 and have lost 90 lbs. When I first
started losing, the boobs remained, and I had some hope that they wouldn't
totally deflate.....WRONG! They are hanging there (my husband is happy for
me for the weight loss, but he is a boob man). Oh well, one of the
sacrafices we make, right? Congratulations on your loss and Happy
Holidays!

I'm nto far enough post - op to have lost mine but my Angel has lost all
hers also down 120 lbs and has informed me she'll never speak to me again
if I don't lose mine :) I went into this expecting I would, and will start
saving for my reconstruction as soon as the husband goes back to work :)
But 120 lbs down! Good Job!

Yep, it's pretty much skin that's left. I was complaining to my PCP about
this and he laughed and said the average bust size after wls is 34 long! My
husband and I laugh about my "floating" boobs - one night during
sex he reached for one and ended up finding it in my armpit. Seriously,
look at it this way, it makes breast self exam and mammograms easier
without all that fatty tissue. The mammogram used to really hurt having all
that squished and now I can hardly feel it. Good thing too as I have to
have them more often than normal as a result of a breast injury in a car
accident.

When I was real fat, the things I truly liked about my body were my
long, black hair and by boobs. I've lost 150lbs. after my open rny and
my boobs are gone! I still have something upfront...they aren't flat
sacks (like my sister's) but I'm certainly not "stacked"
anymore...and I
kinda miss that. I think the only way to take care of the problem is
with surgery. When she was fat, my sister had been approved for breast
reduction.
She delayed it until she had lost 100lbs. Her reduction then became
reconstrucion
during which the surgeon actually had to cut off her breasts and construct
new ones.
He said this type of reconstruction was much more complicated and difficult
than breast
reduction. But, she had no choice (her insurer agreed) because the
"bags" hung down to
her navel and were a physical deformity on her size 10 body.

legs flap... what do you think? Am I on the right track? Keep smilin',

Oh man - it's so good to know I'm not alone!!!! All of the previous posts
describe me to a "T". One added funny....my husband says I no
longer have beautiful melons....istead I have fruit roll ups. I toy with
the idea of getting them fixed but I bet insurance would laugh in my face
if I requested it!! Good Luck To You!!!

You know when I gained weight it WAS NOT in the boobs. But when I lost
weight it WAS in the boobs. However, I can say that after the initial
weight loss my boobs seem to be stable now and the weight is now coming for
all the other places I want it to. chin, butt, hips, stomach... I think
the boobs are in the "safe" zone now. HA HA

I'm posting anonymously because this is really gross. But I told my husband
when I lost 100 pds I would get on top never could before well lo and
behold I got on top and with my swinging "Etheopian boobs" I kept
hitting him in the face with them. It was actually rather funny I don't
think he will ask for me to get on top again.

I just had to respond to this one! I am 14 pounds from my goal weight (down
98 pounds...7 months post op) and I have several descriptions for my new
boobs. Here goes... tube socks with golf balls; flappers; butterfly nets
with pebbles; and last but not least, the old lady at the end of the movie
"something about Mary" Oh my, are they gone! In a bra you can't
tell, but w/o clothes they are quite a sight. Last year before my surgery,
I actually had a lead role in a play playing someone whose character was
centered around her huge chest. I could definately not revise that role
again. I guess I will either have to get some dental floss behind my ears
with a pulley attached to lift them up or have a breast lift. Either way,
they will need some serious work. Oh well, it's a small price to pay for
being thin and healthy again! Have a peaceful and joyous holiday...

We don't all lose the 'girls.' I had a reduction 10 years ago and went from
falling out top and bottom of a DD to a B-. Open RNY 3 months ago and I am
down 86+ pounds and the last bras I bought were 36C. Go figure! I am
swimming 5 days a week--maybe that helps. the 'girls' never looked better.

Gee it's so nice to hear that I am not the only one to have to
"roll" my breasts into my bra. Talk about pancakes! I do have
to say this though. The new water bras work pretty well for me. Make me
look as if I actually have a chest (which I do if I could roll up this
skin). Here is my biggest problem and maybe someone has an answer. Does
anyone else have the problem that when they bend over, their breast fall
out of the bra? Talk about looking deformed! I have to sit there and
basically (casually as possible in public) stuff them back into the bra.
They look fine as long as I don't bend over and make them hang. If I do
that, I seem to have a nipple sticking up towards my face. Sad but true.
So glad to see that alot of people seem to have this problem. Nice to know
that my boobs have friends just like them out there somewhere and are not
alone.

LMAOROTF Yep, the girls aren't what they used to be...I may check out
those water bras, and possibly a lift later on. My DH is a boob man, and he
says I went from "boobious" to maybe perky??? LOL But at least I
don't have all the weight to carry around, too. <SIGH>

YES!!! Finally. I am smaller breasted now, then when I was in high school.
I started this journey a 44DDD. I now sport a 34D. My hubby always
comments on "where did they go". I need a lift, but besides a
little sagging I am so happy. NO MORE back aches and expensive bras. I
can now shop at Victoria's Secret and not have the salesgirl look at me
like "what do YOU want?" LOL Thanks to everyone for their
delightful insight. I haven't laughed so hard in a while.

God bless all of you and your husbands for finding humor
in something that would otherwise be a "painful situation".
I've especially laughed over the "arm pits" one. You ladies
have made my day! I tend to take life (and myself) way
to seriously and this was a wonderful deversion from that.
Bless you all! :)

Yeppers- can relate! Do you Moms out there remember the
kid tune "Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble too and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow?...."
My boobs! I don't like bras either-can't seem to find one that
fits properly, but I am most comfortable in a sports bra.
Of course, there are some clothes I can't wear them with,
but for the most part, I live in them. I am NOT complaining
though! I love being able to BUY a sports bra and participating
IN sports:) Merry Christmas all!
wear them with.
