Question:
Will insurance cover hernia repair, even if they didn't cover the WLS?
I had WLS in 3-2001 and quit my job soon after. I am now on a new insurance plan that doesn't cover WLS, and I have developed an incisional hernia. Will the insurance company pay to have the hernia repaired even though they don't cover WLS? Or will I have to pay out of pocket??? I'm totally freaked out - somebody please help!!! — Terissa R. Yes, they should cover it. Mine was covered by a different carrier. Also my
hernia happened in work , so workers comp is covering my time off.
