Question:
Approved by ins, new book left out except when medically necessary
My company's re up date is October 1. I am scheduled for surgery this month and just received my new cards and new book. They used to exempt WLS except when medically necessary. The new book leaves out "except when medically necessary". Can they change their minds after approval. Will I have the surgery and then get denied and be stuck with the bills. MY INSURANCE WAS BEING COMPLETELY SWITCHED TO A DIFF. COMPANY. MY DATE WAS
SET BEFORE THE SWITCH TOOK OVER AND I WAS TOLD THAT BY LAW IT HAS TO JUST
ROLL OVER IF IT WAS ALREADY IN THE PROCESS. I AM NOT SURE HOW IT WOULD
EFFECT YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION BUT I WOULD THINK IT WOULD SINCE IT WAS
PRE-EXISTING. CHECK WITH YOUR HUMAN RESOURSE DEPT. THEY SHOULD HAVE MORE
INFO. GOOD LUCK....
