Question:
How common is to have brachioplasty & breast re-construction done at same time?

My WLS Dr. will be doing my hernia repair & abdominalplasty soon(waiting on ins apprvl),then he will be doing my legs(guess that will be self-pay.)But,my batwings are so ugly and my 46J breasts are now 36 DD so eventually will need those 2 areas tightened up. Any estimates on costs for the batwing/breast in the Dallas area? RNY5-23-03/291/165    — Patricia D. (posted on September 7, 2004)

I have seen lots of post WLS ppl have multiple areas done at the same time. I am scheduled for a Feb surgery including abdominalplasty, breast augmentation, brachio, and liposuction in several areas including the neck. Looking forward to having only one recovery period for lots of change. My fee included hospital room, OR, anesthesiology, and doc fees at $22,000. The fees broken down were: $4000 per arm, $6000 for breasts, and $8000 for the belly. Everything else was 'thrown in'. I'm sure it is more than covered though:)

I would proceed cautiously with having more than one procedure at the same timel your pain threshold, the types of procedures being considered, and overall health must be taken into consideration by you and your surgeon. While some surgeons do a massive amount of work at a time, you have to realize that a) your risks increase exponentially, with each additional procedure and/or length of time under anesthesia; and b) your pain level will likely be magnified when you have multiple procedures in one operating session, especially given the fact that some surgeries are exceptionally painful. My best suggestion (and I have no cost estimates) is that you read the literature and read some profiles of those who've had similar surgeries before making your final determination. Good luck!

I had brachioplasty and breast lift (no implant) in LA. Total cost for both (everything included even garments) was $11,300. The arm scar goes up and through my armpit so he could pull up the skin that would be left over hanging over my bra. Results of both surgeries are awesome! The breakdown was breast lift $6,400, arm lift $4,900.

I dont know the 'costs' but I would submit your 'breast' first to your insurance company - they can be covered. And if aprpoved, you could then have the arms done at the same time; but wouldnt have to pay for the OR - just the Doctors fee so you'd save some

I thin doing arms and breasts is a very common combination. It allows them to deal with the bra overhang flab under the arms at the same time and clean everything up. My cost for a breast lift, huge bat wing removal and breast implants is $12,800. This is in Green Bay WI. I got a price from a 2nd PS and it was within $1000, less, because he offers a discount for cash payment. Heck the implants along (just the product) are $1100. I have always had fatty breasts and next to no muscle tissue. So now I have stretched out socks with nipples. They look okay in a bra but are non-existent when I lay on my back. Can you say concave? LOL
