Hang in there, Carole! My sis had lapband, and she had to wait one month
for her first fill. she was size 22 and is now size 10!!! *and so will
you.* Regarding how much you/we eat, I'm betting it only SEEMS to be as
much as b4, but is actually Less. By the way, I can relate you your one
comment on your profile page!! I felt that way too, many a day. Keep
the faith, darlin'~!

Carol, the first six weeks are supposed to be about healing. My surgeon
won't even consider a fill until after the sixth week. And even after your
first fill you may not have restriction. It's a delicate process and
requires patience...the band is a slow and steady wins the race kind of
thing. So try to relax and keep taking care of yourself and doing all of
the other things you need to be working on, your exercise, chewing, eating
slowly, getting in your water. Good luck!

Hey Carol .. my surgery was on 7-16 and I am having my first fill this
Friday, the 10th. I can eat quite a bit if I let myself, almost normal
portions, so I am really looking forward to it. My dr. also says no fills
earlier than 6 weeks. Good luck to you! :)

I know of a SMO woman who went about 10-11 months before her first fill and
lost about 110 lbs in the first year. She has done wonderful. It does
take some self control on the patients part to do what they should and not
see if they can outeat the band. Talk to your surgeon and tell him or her
your concerns. You are the one with this device in your body and you need
to understand why things are being done the way they are. It will always
be necessary to leave the high calorie liquids alone as they will most
likely sabotage your weight loss big time. I'm not saying you are doing
this but it is a permanent change one with a AGB must make. Good Luck and
call the surgeon to get more info.
