Question:
What are restuarant cards?
Recently a question was posted about whether they should ask their doctor for a restuarant card? But what is it? — mdjacobs (posted on November 16, 2002)

I have had two places hand my card back to me and state that they do not
honor them. Needless to say, I do not use it. I can usually get two extra
meals if I take the leftovers home. I did have one place though who
refunded us the amount on the bill. I told them that wasn't necessary, but
they did anyway. They probably thought I didn't like it because I hardly
ate any of it.

I have a restaurant card, but I don't think I would ever use it. I can only
envision the confusion it would cause, as Waitperson A would have to call
over Waitperson B to discuss how to handle this card, and before long
Managers A, B and C are involved in whether or not to honor it, not to
mention how to go about billing me for the meal. No thanks, I'll spend the
extra $3.00 for an adult's meal and have leftovers LOL...

You can get a restaurant card here at this address:
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/restaurantcard.html Some doctors
pass them out to you. Some restaurants will honor them, some won't. My
advise is to call ahead and ask (don't forget to get the name of the person
you talk to) if they have any problem with it and avoid any embarrassing
scenes.
