Question:
Who else besides Carnie has had WLS?
I have read that Carnie started looking into WLS after talking to Roseanne. I've read tons about Carnie's surgery, but next to nothing about Roseanne's, and can't find much searching the web. I'm curious about what kind of surgery Roseanne had, how much she lost, has it worked for her? I haven't seen her on tv for a while. Are there other celebrities who have had it? Carnie, Roseanne, Jo-Marie Peyton (the mom from Family Matters), John
Popper from Blues Traveller, I heard Nell Carter...but I am not sure and I
have not seen her lately...and I have no clue about Dave Thomas.

I didn't know Jo-Marie Peyton had the surgery! Also, I believe Dave Thomas
has some sort of Kidney ailment that has taken a turn for the worse lately
- that might explain his weight loss.

I know this year there is a US Weekly that has several people listed who
have had this done ie. Roseanne Barr, John Popper, You might want to go to
their web site and order it.... I do not remmeber the month but Carnie
Wilson is on the cover!

Well Dave Thomas had heart trouble just before his BIG LOSS so it was
likely surgery. No offense but what impresses me more is not the stars but
the everday normal folks who go thru this. I think more of our site members
than all the stars in the world. Although I would LOVE to see a MO person
tv star have the surgery while playing the part on tv of a MO person who
goes thru the whole ordeal. It would likely play havoc with filming but
would do so much to promote the benefits to the average tv watcher. It
would likely make the ratings soar by people tuning in just to see how the
person has changed. Is that lady on the practice MO?

Jennifer Holiday also had this surgery. I believe she started around
400lbs and is now around 135lbs.

FYI it wasn't really carnie wilson they showed on the internet, it was just
a regular ordinary person, the story was in news week a few months ago.

I don't have any 'stars' names to add... but I just wanted to let Bob H
know that we are pretty impressed with you too Kiddo :-) Your are a
fountain of knowledge...

The 'lady' (although I'm not sure she would like that term) on The Practice
is Camryn Manheim. She has written a book 'Wake Up, I'm Fat!' I don't
know if she is MO or not, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for her to
have WLS. Also want to make it clear that I am a HUGE fan of hers, no pun
intended.
