Question:
What, if any, is a realistic amount of Sugar (in grams)
that cam be eaten at a meal? I know I'll get all different answers as everyone is different, but what did your nutritionist/dietician give you as an average? — lily1968 (posted on June 30, 2001)

Our doc says 6g per meal. Figure 1g for the peas, 1 g for the potatos, 1 g
for the meat, then add up everytign else. Not much, huh? So, you become a
REALLY good label reader. I think Allie has gotten her eyes back in her
head since finding out how much sugar is in milk, but there are other
surprise, too!

It depends upon the food. A banana has alot of sugar but not the kind that
causes dumping. I have always used milk as an example of the max amount of
sugar per serving - about 12 grams. I completely stay away from refined
sugars.
