Kaiser has different rules depending on the area. In the DC/VA area you
have to have a BMI of 35 or greater with co-morbidities or a BMI of 50 and
higher without. I believe high blood pressure is a morbidity. The real
challenge you'll have is getting your PCP on board and submitting the
correct referrals. I'd be glad to answer any questions I can if you want
to email me.

Hi Dawn! Kaiser is NOT easy, especially if your BMI is under 50. I have
listed Kaiser Southern California's requirements at the bottom of my
profile. I believe that No. Cal's are close, but some of the No. Cal
locations also require a 10 week nutrition course.

Hi Dawn, I too am using Kaiser (No. California) I think they make you jump
through a lot of hoops but I feel they have our best interests at heart. I
heard if your BMI is not 50+ then you need to have 2 co-morbidities. If you
want to email me with further questions I will be glad to help. I am at the
final stages of approval and just have to have a surgery consult and get a
date......(Waiting) the Kaiser way.
