Question:
any takers?
Can we form an association, alliance or group so that we may purchase "GROUP" medical insurance, such as Aetna, Cigna or one of the others that covers WLS? I would be willing to pay my full premium, plus help with any administrative costs required. I dont even know if we can do this or if anyone is interested? — Laura S. (posted on November 14, 2000)

This could be done, I think. In Kentucky there is a law that clubs cannot
be formed for the sole purpose of insurance. However, a WLS club, that
emphasizes the bond between members should be fine and members could
participate in the purchase of group health insurance so long as you can
find a company who would underwrite it.

Count me in! I have been beating my head against brick walls trying to
find a secondary insurance company. Agents are down right rude when you
ask about obesity exclusions. I live in Washington State, does that make a
difference? Please keep me informed. Thanks!

I am fighting my first denial.
If it fails, I would love to participate.
Maybe the guy at www.obesitylaw.com would research it?
Heck he could even setup a separate company to sell it to us.
