Question:
I'm afraid I am eating too much!! (2)
I had open RYN in June of 1999. That makes me 7 months post. While I can still only eat a small portion at each sitting, I can surely eat alot more than at first. Before, I would eat a small meal, and then I wouldn't be hungry for a while. But now, after I have eaten what should be my meal, I become hungry soon after. Maybe I am really not hungry, but am eating just to be eating. I think it may be an emotional thing. Also, I really crave sweets much too often. The bad thing about it is that I really don't get dumping. Sometimes I just get very tired and have to lay down, but not a real sick feeling. I am afraid that I am eating too much becasue I eat more than three small meals a day. The second helpings are a real problem. Has anybody experienced this? How have you dealt with it? — miles B. Miles, that is the very thing I have been going through. I try to drink
more water, and just occupy myself w/ something else until it passes--the
desire. I have started going to a class called Weigh-Down and I am hopful
that it will teach me to not focus on food.

times a day in small sometimes average servings but the amount has
definitaly increased since my surgery in November of 1999,all I can offer
is as long as your still loosing weight your ok.

I had a distal gastric bypass in 1994, and lost 120 pounds. I started at
250lbs and ended at 128, then hit my set point weight of 135 at 14 months
post op, I stayed there for 4 years, had a baby and then weighed 145 for 3
years. Now, I have recently gained 18 pounds and I can't figure out why!
About 6 months ago, I had a hysterectomy, and since then, I have been
putting on weight. I don't eat sugars, I don't have a staple line
disruption, and I don't eat very much a day, maybe 1000 calories or less.
It seems crazy, how can I gain weight? I am only suppose to be absorbing
1/6 of what I eat, where is the weight coming from. I am terrified, I
don't want to weigh 250 again. Also, I have a kidney disease that is
complicated and my blood pressure has gone up a bit in the last few months.
Any answers? I am desparate. Thanks Sharon
