Question:
I can only eat two or three bites of food at a time is this common.
I had surgery Oct. 5 and I still can only eat about two bites of food at a meal. If I eat meat or moor food I have to get rid of it. I feel like Iate a rock. On the good side I have lost 67#. Judy Lowe — Judy L. (posted on December 26, 1999)

I can still only eat about three to five bites at one sitting and I am
full
If I eat more I get a bad feeling up in my chest and it will come back up
not a lot just a litte
I still do soups better than anything. I had surgery Oct. 12,1999 I have
only lost 40 pounds. I am
back to work and walking everyday. Tell me what are you doing or eatinng
that you have lost so much more
The doctor says I am doing great because I only had about 130
pounds to lose next to some one who has to lose about 200 will
lose faster. Michele [email protected]

I am almost 18 months post op and I am still at this point. I have very
small opening out of the stomach. I am on mostly liquids. If I have
solids it must be only two or three TEASPOONS. Even then some foods
don't go through. It stays there sometimes for hours and then I vomit. I
have had six endoscopies to open up the anastamosis. They work for a
while. I was told this could take years for the scar tissue to reduce.
Meanwhile I have lost 226, I am ten pounds UNDER my goal weight, 9goal 135,
weight 1250. It is a battle to get enough liquids and variety to keep even
this weight up. I never, ever thought I would have to say that.

I had an open RNY two weeks ago. I am glad I can only eat a couple of
bites of food at a time. My worry is water. I could drink more last week
than this week. I take one sip at a time now and I am full. Last week, I
could drink and eat more. Anyone know why this would happen?
