dx with hypothryoid 6 month post op?

Your diagnose has nothing to do with your WLS. This is totally a hormonal
disease and has everything to do with your family's genes. All my sisters
are hypo and I am the only one that turned out to be hyper. So rest assured
that you did not cause this to happen to you because of WLS.

Nancy, that first post is not always true. I don't have one person in my
family that suffers from hypothyroidism but almost 2 years post op I have
been diagnosed with it. I'm not in any way saying it was because of WLS
but the doctors have told me that with this surgery we "push" our
bodies into hyperthyroidism to lose the weight so quickly. Once we start
plateauing then our bodies will sometimes make a switch to hypo. I would
talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she says. Mine has told me
and I trust in them 100%.
