I always got the hiccups when I took in too much food or water at one time.
Slow down. It takes time to learn your new limits but for me the hiccups
came right before misery of having too much.

Ditto- hiccups = too much of something for me. if I hiccup, it's because
I've taken in too much liquid or food at one time or I am full. Strange
but true. Even my husband has caught on to that. The other signal I get
is runny nose...also strange but true.

Itt's still a running joke around everyone with me and the hiccups....
every time I eat to much, I usually get one or two hiccups.... everyone in
the room knows that I ate too much.... or swallowed something to drink too
hard.... I know that sounds weird... I kinda got used to it, and find that
my hiccups are my sensor as to how much I have taken in.

My boyfriend had the same problem you are. And the doctor gave him some
medication to help stop the hiccups. He had only a couple after he got out
of the hospital and has not had any major problems with it. Talk withyour
doctor, he/she may be able to help.
