Question:
Anyone know of any effective creams to help fade stretchmarks?
I'm 43, 10 days post-op and have really bad stretchmarks very low on my abdominal area. They appeared quickly as I gained my excess weight over the past few years. Do any of the creams work? Thanks! — Carly H. (posted on January 20, 2004)

I too suffered from TERRIBLE stretch marks due to being overweight. I SWEAR
by strivectin SD . It did not totally take them away, but they are at least
1/2 the size and color they were (hardly noticeable) Downside...Its quite
costly $130 retail for 6oz bottle..I bought mine from Ebay for $85 Its
VERY concentrated so you only need a little little bit, You need to commit
to using it 2X a day- If anyone tells you cocoa butter- Ummmm didn't work
for me- I used GALLONS of the stuff- Only good thing, was I had nice soft
smooth skin with still the same stretch marks (haha)
Best wishes Kim

I have heard that Maderma Cream (you can purchase it at any Walgreens) is
good for both scarring and stretch marks.

I heard that getting in the tanning bed helps them appear less noticable.

a cheap solution is cocoa butter and vitamin E you can get the two combined
in a lotion or sperate vitamin E oil. I used it everyday for a few months
and it faded them considerably and are hardly noticeable.

Simply open a Vit. E capsule and apply the "liquid" directly to
your skin.

I'm a Scargo fan. One $7 bottle lasted thru my plastics AND my revision.
You only use a finger tip full at a time. It doesn't help a raised scar, it
only fades & softens.
