Question:
I have 2 little bumps on my incision ,What the heck are these???
I have 2 little bumps on my incision and they are there all the time. They don't change when I bear down and they feel hard. I kind of wonder if they aren't a fatty tumor or something but they're hard and round about the size of my little finger. Anyone else have anything like that? — Mark L. (posted on September 8, 2003)

I would have the Dr's office check it out.. I dont want to scare you but I
had a very comon complication.. and it started as a little red bump.. it
ended up being a wound infection or aka cellulitus... so please go and get
it checked out... take care.. and good luck..

Hi there, Mark! I have to agree with Karen, I had the same thing. My Mom
even kept telling me that I had a gas bubble, it ended up an infection that
put me back in the hospital an extra week and being treated with
aggressive antibiotics. Tell your surgeon ASAP. Vi. open RNY 9/23/02 down

These are most likely sutures trying to work their way out.I've had a few
try and do that. They eventually dissolved and the bumps went away. But if
they start to get red and painful then i would call your doc.

My surgery isn't until next month but I've had other surgeries in the past
and I experienced the same thing. There were small HARD "objects"
under my skin that felt like they were plastic or something. It really
freaked me out because they definitely didn't feel like they were part of
me or were supposed to be there. I called my doctor and described them to
him and he said that it's scar tissue and that they will go eventually go
away - that it's just part of the body's natural healing process. He was
right but it did take a few weeks for the lumps to disappear.
