Question:
Vitamin B1
I am not educated yet with what my stats should be when I go for my blood work, but I will be before long. My question is that my stats for Iron and Vitamin B1 came back low. These were my first results after my LAP-RNY. I received a prescription for the iron and I was told to get only 25mg of B1. I can't seem to find any lower than 50mg or 100mg. Would it be OK to take more than 25mg of B1? — janice L. (posted on May 21, 2003)

My B1 (thiamine) came back a bit low and my surgeon put me on 100mgs daily
of B1 for a month. It's a water-soluble vitamin so it does tend to wash
out. But just ask your doc if it's okay to take more.

Well I will share with you what my support group people had to say, she
said the same thing about it being water soluble, she said pretty much that
it won't hurt you and also get this since the extra like comes out of your
skin, sorta like perspiration....Bugs won't want to bite you
either.....WEIRD!!!! But hey it sounds good to me!
