How many Rny-lap surgeries should a surgeon do each month to be experienced?

I don't think it really mattters how many he does a week...but how many he
has done cumulatively. mine had done over 500...the learning curve seems
to be 50.

<font color="007000" face="tahoma">If you are
worried that a surgeon is not experienced, ask him for references of
previous patients. See how they are doing. Even though "we"
don't want to go with non-experienced surgeons, they have to get the
experience some place. :)

Hi Barbara! ...About the surgeon that did my surgery, I was his FIRST
patient. However he worked under an attending physician/surgeon who is
skilled, competent and has excellent credentials, in the areas of both LAP
& Open RNY. They both do VBG's as well, but both of them are especially
skilled in LAP RNY for individuals who weight as much as 550+
pounds...yada,yada,yada... I'd trust either of them to do my surgery again
in a heartbeat. LAP RNY 9/3/02 265/160/115-126~~~~~~~
