Question:
Is it true that we should wait to have...........
plastic surgery for at least 18 months because our skin will bounce back a bit? I have heard this but is it true? Thanks. 212/124/108 — TP (posted on May 6, 2003)

Not a 'bounce' in site. I think "THE bounce" might depend on
your age and the amount you lost. I waited 28 months before getting my PS
and trust me there was NO BOUNCE in the skin.... I would have won first
place in the 'sharpei' skin contest....

My surgeon had me wait til I had not lost any weight for three months
before doing the tummy tuck. He might have had me wait longer but I had
bad hernias that needed to be repaired and we put it off for six months.
The reason he gave me for waiting wasn't for the skin to "bounce
back" but to make sure that I had lost most of what I was going to
lose so I wouldn't have the TT and then lose a lot more and have more
excess skin.
