Question:
Has anyone in the chicago area with a bmi of 39 with no co-morb. find a surgeon?

I don't exactly fit your criteria, but you should try my surgeon, Dr. Constantine Frantzides. He works out of Rush-Presbyterian Hospital, in Chicago. He's wonderful and may be open to discussing the possibilities with you. Good luck!

I am from Chicago, and had a BMI around 40, I had Dr. Printen, he is one of the doctors to invent the surgery, so I had no doubts of his ability, he is also the head of the Bariatric Association. He in my opinion is THE BEST!!!! and he will work with you and your insurance company, the main reason he did mine was because my whole family was over 300, and even thow I was only 213, he new if I didnt do this I would repeat history. I live about 30 miles south-west of Chicago and I go to a place called the WISH Center -- they are great!!! They have a group of surgeons -- you can choose who you want or they will assign you one. They also have wonderful seminars to go to. During the seminars you will meet one of the surgeons and a post-op patient. They will answer any questions that you have. I highly recommand them... My mom used them when she had her surgery in November of 2001. Please check out their website at www.wishcenter.org. There office is in Downer's Grove and they do the surgery at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. Good luck!!

I used Dr. Frantzides as well and was very pleased with him. I also went to a seminar at the WISH center but did not leave with a good feeling from there. Overall, I can say I have no regrets with my decision. I feel that I have done very well and tolerate things well. I wish you luck in your search. Feel free to check out my profile. Dr. Deziel at Rush is great...I had exactly a 40 BMI...No co-morbs except high cholesterol
