WOW what a problem - too much loss- you probably didn't care at postop if
you got this. But it really is one now! I would differently advise you to
go to the Library site for some past advise from many people who have this
as one source. You may have to have some sort of revision or reversal if it
can't be controlled. My heart and prayers go out to you. Maybe even seek
some other opinions from other doctors. Sally (3/26/03), Harrison, Mi

I went thru the same thing. I lost 190 lbs in 12 months. I was 390 when I
started now I am at 197. What I done to stop the weight loss is to start
eating carbs. You will still have to get your protein but in addition start
eat veggie's and fruit's etc... This will slow and eventually stop the
loss. Keep an eye on your weight so you dont start gaining. If you have any
questions feel free to ask.

All eating disorders are very closely related. Compulsive overeating,
bulemia and anorexia aren't just about appetite, but also about emotional
issues. While you are working with your surgeon on the medical issues, I
encourage you to also work with a counselor who specializes in eating
disorders. You are going through so many changes with your rapid weight
loss -- not just physical changes, but also psychological changes. I went
to therapy for several years before my surgery and I think it really helped
with all the changes I have gone through this past year. I also tolerate
spicy foods well. My husband and I like to pan saute mild white fish
(talapia, catfish, etc.) with cayenne pepper and it seems to sit well with
both of us. He also had the surgery. I wish you the best.

Tony- your situation has been a cncern of mine. I too can only tolerate
sweets and some chips (mostly Cheetos). Every once in a whili I can sneak
something else in but its rare. I see my surgeon for my 6 month follow up
next month and I fear that I am nutitionally screwed up. I have lost weight
very quickly too- around 90 in 3 1/2 months, I believe. I am now down 110
pounds with maybe 30 or 40 more to go. I am having bouts of depression
because I want to be able to eat the right things, but my pouch won't allow
it. Thank you for your post because I was beginning to think I was the only
one. I hope it gets better for you soon... *huge hugs*

Have you had a scope to determine if your pouch is still intact? Dx with a
mental disorder if it's a physical problem isn't going to help you. Have
you had a very thorough blood work up done? Compared "today's"
results to 3 months ago, 3 months before that? I'm thinking there is
probably a phsyical reason for vomiting (maybe band is eroding?), and
perhaps nutritonal reason for lack of appetitie, though lack of interest
off 'n on is kinda normal for us.
