Question:
Why do PPO insurance plans seem to approve the surgery more readily ...

I have BCBS ppo and they turned me down on the 23 but I am going to fight
it, my BMI is 73 and I am on oxygen, I told them the other day that it was
going to start costing them more to denie me tham to approve me,I have
other health issues also

PPO denies also---mine has been denied and alot of other people with Blue
Cross/Blue Shield PPO in Florida---PPO= put people off---

PPO's tend to approve more, because they usually get more money back from
the patient with larger deductibles, out of network fees, etc. With an HMO,
other than your deductible, they write off everything else.
