Question:
Will staples set off metal detectors?

i'm wondering about the staples we have. Do they set off metal detectors in an airport? I'm going to see my sister in washington st. in a few months and need to know if i have to take my medical records with me. I would hate to get to the airport and not even be able to find out if i fit in the seat because my staples won't let me into the boarding area......lol. thanks    — [Anonymous] (posted on February 22, 2002)

The staples we have are made from a very fine titanium that WILL NOT set off alarms at the airport. Trust me - I have traveled several times since my WLS with no problems at all.

I had to go through a dector in a court house and had no problem. However, when I flew (preop) my underwire set it off.
