Question:
Looking for Michigan surgeons who do Lap RNY

My sister has decided to take the plunge and go for a consult, however she will only consider a surgeon qualified and highly recomended that does lap RNY. She understands that even a scheduled lap can become open, but wants the bestchance of having lap as possible. Any Michiganders out there with a recomendation? I am not sure---but I don't think Michigan allows LAP as of yet...I read that somewhere but don't remember now--maybe things have changed? Have her check into Bariatric Treatment Center,,,,,maybe they could get some ansewrs for you

Close to Michigan is Dr. Mark Kligman in Toledo, Ohio who is possible one of the best in the country at lap gastric bypass. Check out his profile in this website. I drove three hours each way to see Dr. Kligman and it was definately worth it. Michael A. Zullo four months post op and down 84 pounds.

There is a new place in Grand Rapids that does lap. I'll try and find the name for you. My insurance company offered me that option if I went to them they'd pay 100% of my procedure, but I was set on my micropouch, which is not done lap. My drs also do lap, but it's only for the AGB. If I find the name of it in Grand Rapids, I'll post it.

I just had lap done a week ago today and I am from Spring Lake, MI...my surgeon was Randall Baker from MMPC in Grand Rapids. He does lap procedures quite commonly. I can give you more info if you are interested...just email me if you need more info. Hope that helps!

There is an Excellent Lap RNY surgeon located in Royal Oak, MI. His name is Dr. Kevin Krause, and his phone number is 248.551.8180 (If last four numbers aren't right, try 248.551.5000 and ask for Dr. Krause's office). Read my profile to find out more about him. There are several other people I have sent to him and they are all going to have surgery with him! He is such a wonderful man, and a fabulous doctor!! Ask on the message board for people who are going to Dr. Krause... you might be surprised!! (I know of at least fifteen that frequent this board!!) Good Luck!!!
