Following my lap RNY, I had six 1/2" incisions scattered across my
upper abdomen. One year later, I can only locate 3 of those sites...faint
lavendar lines, and the others have disappeared.

i have 7 sights on my stomach. One takes only one staple, some three, and
the big ones have about 7 staples.

I had an open VBG. My scar is from the top of my ribcage to
about the middle of my belly button. Approx 12" long. But I
don't regret 1" of it.

I had a lap RNY last July. I have 6 small scars ranging from 1/4" to
3/4" long. They are arranged in an rough oval over my upper abdomen.
The highest is center front, just below my bra and the lowest is about
three inches above my naval. At eight months out only two are really
noticable. A good friend had his surgery recently and showed me his scars.
His surgery started lap and his lap incisions are similarly placed to mine.
But his surgeon had to finish the operation as an "open", so in
the middle of circle of lap scars he as a scar about 6 inches long. My
sister's open rny scar runs from just below her breasts to just above her
belly button and it ranges from a pencil line, to about a half wide. But
she had complications about a week after she went home and was opened up a
second time. She also has a scar from the feeding tube she had to use for
the first few weeks. It's slightly larger than a quarter, located on the
lower half of her stomach, off to one side. Three different people, three
different results. As far as scars anyways, the one result we share is
that we would all do it again in a heart beat.
