Question:
I just got my insurance through my work but now I don't know where to start?

You must first check to see if you need a referral to see a specialist or
not. I would suggest talking to the HR Department at work and finding out
if you need a referral, or call the insurance company yourself. If you
need a referral, you must go to your Primary Care Physician to obtain it.
In the meantime, I would suggest making an appointment to see a surgeon,
with or without the referral. The way I did it was call the surgeon's
office that I am going with and making the appointment. I called in Early
April and don't even have the consultation until June 29th with him. While
I was waiting, I found out all my insurance requirements, had an
appointment with my PCP, and got the referral. Now I am all set for my
consult that will be coming up in a few weeks. Good luck!!
