How can I choose among the Drs in NY?

Katherine, you might want to visit the NY Metro Obesity Surgery Support
Group (http://www.OSSG-NYC-METRO.org). You're sure to find some info there.
They've also got an eGroup email list. To subscribe, send a blank email to
[email protected]. You can then ask the list members
about their surgeons, and perhaps narrow the field. Good luck!

Hi Katherine: Call the offices of the doctors in your area, and ask to
have information sent to you. Most surgeons have an information packet or
booklet explaining what they do (which procedures) and why. Then, make
appointments to see them, ask for referrals from past patients that you can
speak with, go to their support group meetings, and generally learn all you
can about each of them before you decide. Finding the surgeon who is right
for you is extremely important in this process! And, whomever you choose,
chances are that there is someone on this site who has experience with
them. Good luck! Jaye Carl, RN, open proximal RNY (divided) 7-29-99, 102
pounds gone forever!
