Does BTC do the distal or Proximal bypass surgery?

They do medial distal. I had mine done at BTC in IL.

The surgeons at BTC all bypass 150cm of the small intestine, and reconnect
the "Y" 200cm down from the stoma. Some people call that
proximal, some call it medial. There's no exact definition for those terms
among different doctors. However, 150cm is only a small fraction of the
total length of the small intestine, so malabsorbtion is not a big problem.
