Anyone with Fortis Ins used Walter Lindstrom.

I used to work for Fortis insurance doing the precerts for surgeries including WLS. We did approve them when medically necessary. They may have different criteria now because they don't use the same system for precerts now, which is why I was laid off. But they do let you appeal up to 2 times. When you appeal write a letter of appeal and and address it to thepresident of the company and be sure to let them know you will be sending it to the insurance commissioner for your state, and do send it to the insurance commissioner for your state. Be sure to put information on all your symptoms and comorbidities. Also have your primary doctor and surgeon and any other doctor you have write letters of appeal with the medical information in them. Any proof you have of your diagnosises and diet efforts should be sent too. Send only copies as you want to keep all your originals. Good luck. Cathy
