Question:
Should I have breast reduction before WLS?
I have large, sagging breasts and am considering a breast reduction. Will weight loss after WLS affect the way my post reduction breasts look? Should I wait until after I lose the weight to have the reduction? — shelbabyrn (posted on August 23, 2004)

I would definitely say wait until after you lose your weight. My boobs were
huge before WLS but now they are about right. I do need a lift but
definitely not a reduction. I was a 44 stuffed D should have been DD,now I
am 36 barely D.

I would wait. I had large saggy breast before and now they are much amaller
and much saggier. I now need a lift and (i cannot even imagine) implants! I
started a DDD now a C I am afraid it would be a waste of time and pain for
you

Shelley, I would definitely wait until after you lose weight. I was large
breasted before WLS and still large after WLS but much, much saggier. Some
people lose a tremendous amount of volume with weight loss. However, some
people don't lose so much volume but I think it would be in your best
interest to wait a year or so to make the decision. I just think that
you'll be happier in the end if you wait now. You wouldn't want to get a
reduction now and have great looking breasts only to lose all the volume in
them with weight loss and then be left with saggy sacks of skin - it can
happen! Good luck to you!

I think that you should wait until after surgery. When you begin to loose
the weight it will the weight will go from all over. If you get them done
know you may be disappointed after you have WLS

No...I had mine at 166 pounds. I never dreamed i would go down to 120
pounds. So when I had surgery I came out a nice C I love them I wanted to
show them to everyone. (of course I did'nt) But since a lost more weight
I;m now a 34 A and that ladies is a padded A. Now I need implants. Lord are
we ever happy.(Grins and giggles)

I would definately wait.... I went from a 44DD plus at 298lbs to a 32 B at
158lbs... You will probably want to wait to see how they look when you
reach your goal weight.
