Question:
Carb-Friendly frozen dinner
I just tried a frozen entree called Don Miguel Carb-Friendly pepper steak bowl. It was pretty good! I got it at Walmart for about two bucks. It's like a very meaty chili. It has 320 calories; 8g fat; 8g net carbs; and 46g protein!! and its just enough for lunch or dinner (about a cup). I added a slice of lowfat cheese too. There's also a Steak Chili Bowl and I think I saw one with chicken too. They all have about the same nutrition info. Just thought I'd share! KathyD — Kathy D. (posted on August 11, 2004)

Thanks so much for the "heads up". We don't have a WalMart in
the area that sells food, but do have Sam's Club, which I assume will have
the same stuff. One question, tho, is it spicy? I love chili, but cannot
tolerate much in the way of spices .... nothing to do with the WLS, but my
mouth is very sensitive to different things.
Thanks again.

The pepper steak bowl was a little spicy (has jalepeno--just a little) but
I have had a problem with spicy foods since I had wls and I was able to eat
it without any complications. KathyD
