Have you been to your Dr. for follow up? You don't give a lot of
info...how much are you eating, what surgery did you have and how far
postop are you, are you exercising, are you putting protein first? You
don't have to drink strictly water, just a non-caloric, non-carbonated
beverage- I prefer decaf iced tea w/ Splenda to get my 70 oz a day in, and
don't have a problem with it.
Seriously though, I think your Dr. would be the best to help you with
this.... Good luck, and hopefully things will work out for you. Shannon

If you have lost 3# you are technically not on a plateau. A plateau is when
you have not lost any WEIGHT OR INCHES in over a month. Have you taken your
measurements on a regular basis since you have had surgery? Also keep tabs
on how your clothing is fitting, for example are you slacks or tops getting
big on you? I find that I loose inches when the scale does not move. And
besides stay off of the scale it only causes you to get discouraged when
you do not see it moving. Take a look at what you have been eating, too
many carbs may be? Start keeping a food log to make sure that you are
getting enough protein and water in. Good luck. Christine open RNY 5/7/03

You need to get all of your water in at least 64 oz a day to allow your
kidneys to carry away the waste products of burning body fat. When you
don't have enough fluids, your liver has to do 'double duty' to break down
the fat and metabolize the waste products of breaking it down. So get your
cup or water bottle and DRINK!! :)
