I am 4-1/2 months post-op today, and the exact same thing happened to me at
about 3 months....After surgery, the first few periods were normal, but
they came close together, anyhow, then I started to feel crampy all the
time and I must have spotted for 3 weeks maybe even more and it was driving
me crazy and then all of a sudden one day it was like a waterfall....I had
a major BIG TIME period that lasted 4 days! and now, NOTHING! I am fine. I
think our bodies are just still trying to figure out whats going on....but
if you still think it is somehthing more, please call your doctor, but I
don't think you have an internal leak, but who am I to say....The dotor

Yes, the pain is severe when you're transected and leak. But, it is located
in the left side and radiates from the rib to the shoulder. Call your
surgeon anyway to get his opinion. I had a leak and the pain was as I
described, and I heard a surgeon comment to another "classic signs of
a leak"....never heard that until that momment. I had intense gas pain
that sounds much like what your describing...I didn't think it was since it
felt more like menstrual..but upon direction I took Gas-X and the pain went
away. Best to check with your surgeon before you do anything though. Good
luck. -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 282/138/125
