As long as your post-op plan has you on real food it might be fine. I'm
thinking I was maybe 2-3 weeks before I had any onions (cooked only). I'm
not so sure if you will want onion breath and ketosis mouth at the same
time. Just a warning as you may not be experiencing the wonders of ketosis
yet. The onions and garlic may make it better or possibly worse and it's
bad enough on it's own.

I agree to find out what type of foods your plan has you on at two weeks
post-op. I was just starting pureed foods then, and could not have eaten
onions and garlic, unless they were pureed. At four weeks out, I was
allowed gentle "real" food, and could eat onions and garlic then.
My dietitian suggested sauteed onions as a method to keep me regular. I
regalarly eat onions and garlic, and have never had a problem with either.
