Question:
10 months out need HELP getting to goal!!!!!!!
Yesterday I had my 10 month RNY anniversary and I am afraid I have stopped losing!!!!! I wanted to lose 167 pounds in 12 months and there is no way I will make it with two months left. Did I set my goal to high?????? Can anyone give me any suggestions to speed things up again???? I walk and Jog daily and stay away from most carbs.....and I have yet to even try sugar. My calories are around 1000 per day. What worked for any of you??????? Did anybody have stats similar to mine and lose it all in 12 months. Thanks for any help you can offer. Holy Cow! You have done GREAT! Maybe you did set your goals a bit too high.
I have had to readjust mine from time to time. I find that I look at that
end result as the only thing that matters sometimes. I forget that the
progress along the way is awesome. Your calories and exercise sound great
but you may want to examine what those 1000 calories are made up from. If
there are too many carbs or not enough protein you could be slowing your
loss down a little. I have to do that about once a month just to see if
there are any changes I need to make. You just lost 133 pounds in 10
months!!!! In your wildest dreams 2 years ago would you ever have thought
that possible? A year from now will it matter if it was 12 months or 14?
Either way it is an awesome feat! Congratulations!!! :)

Where is this idea that you must get to goal in one year coming from? You
are not the only member here that I have heard say this. Are your doctors
telling you this or what? It sounds like you are doing everything you need
to get to goal. It's not a race, and like the other poster said, in a
couple of years from now is it really going to matter whether it took 12
months or 18? As long as you lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF.

You need to give yourself a break! You've done remarkable well and should
be really proud of yourself. I highly doubt that you're going to lose
another 30+ pounds in the next two months and I really don't think you
should worry over-much about it. At this point (and since I was 9 months
out) I am thrilled if I lose 5 to 10 pounds a month. That's healthy.
Trying to drop another 30 in 2 months this far out might not be advicable.
Good luck!

I had surgery the same day as you :o) I am also having a hard time getting
to goal, but I am only -10lbs. away. I just keep gaining and losing the
same 5lbs and I have come to a stop. My fault though, I eat like crap now,
I snack all day and half of it is junk. I'm even getting lazy with working
out. I'm trying to get back on track now. Don't worry, you are doing great
and now it just takes longer to lose a pound. Good luck to you! open rny

You are doing great and yes, it starts getting harder. Some suggestions,
shake up your routine, up your calories two or three days a week - not with
junk but more protein, veggies whatever. Same with the excersize, try doing
intraval training - running as hard as you can for a minute and then slow
down for a minute, then ramp up again, repeat this for 10 to 15 minutes. Do
this once a week. Try adding weight lifiting. Drink more water. You have to
shock your body, it's gotten used to your old routine. Good luck. You are
doing great but your goal may be unrealistic. It's a journey not a sprint.
