Question:
hoW MUCH SHOULD SOMEONE LOOSE WITHIN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS?
i am just about 8 weeks post op and down 30lbs. I started at 274 and am 5'2. Is this an average weight loss. How much do most with my stats loose at 6 months? — christina L. (posted on July 10, 2003)

Everyone is different. I lost 75 lbs in the first eight weeks... others
lose only 20... it just depends on you and your control of your diet,
actually! :~) Don't worry about not enough or too much... just get your
protien and water in along with your exercise and your body will do the
rest! 18 months post op and down 227 lbs!

I am also a little concerned regarding this and wondering if I'm losing too
quickly. I am 5/7 with a starting weight of 280 and have lost 80lbs in 14
weeks. Seems like an awful lot pretty quickly but my labs all look o.k. I
guess the previous post is right....everyone's different. Best of luck to
you and congrats on your weight loss!

I had surgery Dec 4th and just celebrated 7 months Wednesday with a 105 lbs
weight loss and I love it. It was the best thing I have ever done for
myself....I started out very slow with only 21 lbs lost at my 6 week
checkup, but the dr pointed out what I was doing wrong and the weight
started rolling off, with a loss of 43 lbs within a month. I feel great
and let it keep on rolling....I wasn't eating enough back then, once I
started eating every 2-3 hrs the weight started coming off. Good
Luck...Cinde Shaw

I found a doctors website where he did research from all his patients and
came up with a predict chart. You just input your starting weight and how
many months out you are and click on estimate weight loss. It will tell
you what your average weight loss is along with a low and high range.
