Question:
What is everyone's dream outfit after they lose the weight?
I have been thinking about this. I am still preop so it won't be for a while though. But, I think it would be really cool to take off my wedding rings and go in and try on wedding dresses. Since, I had to wear the only ivory lace dress lane bryant sold at the time. — Kim N. (posted on January 20, 2003)

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing! LOL. I did have a very
pretty white dress from Catherines to get married in...but I would love to
try on a frilly, LONG, lacy wedding dress!
I want to wear nice looking leather pants (black) and a silk white blouse,
chunky shoes or doc martins, a pretty bracelet, and my hair in a pony tail,
without feeling like I am exposing the rest of the fat on my face!.

BLACK LEATHER skirt or pants. I also think your dream outfit sounds
wonderful. If I can ever get a surgery date and get going on my WL, I
would like to ask my partner to marry me on our anniversary in July and
have the wedding on May 15, 2004. A wedding gown in a size that does not
start with a 3 or 2 sounds awesome. Good luck to you. ~Ann in TX

I would love to be able to go into Victoria Secrets and do more than wish.
I really don't like the thong look, but for once in my life I would like to
be able to wear one on my body, as something other than an eyepatch!

I have a size 8 leather mini skirt that I have been saving since my young,
wild, thin days...I think it would look best accompanied with a bikini top
and a Harley on a beach...LOL

Black leather halter minidress.... and 5 inch stiletto heels.

I too will have to agree with the wedding dress. I had a very traditional
wedding dress only it was a size 22 and I was 7 months pregnant. I would
love to wear a very plain white silk wedding dress when my hubby and I
renew our vows. Also I would love love love to scuba dive in a great
looking bikini, or dare I say... a wet suit that doesn't make me look like
the large aqautic marine life. We'll get there.

I'm still pre-op but have been dreaming of being able to wear outdoor
sports outfits: shorts and tops for kayaking and sailing, hiking shorts.
Well-made technical clothing for outdoors activities is what I miss most.
And then there's the dream of an outfit of well-fitted khakis, tailored
shirt, linen vest, nice shoes. All in about 20 sizes smaller than I am
now! Can't wait.

Like someone else said, I've got tons of dream outfits in my mind for after
I lose weight, but my absolute favorite would be to be able to wear flannel
pajama pants, and little short sleeved t-shirt, like the thin girls do!
When I fat person goes out in that, they look pathetic and lazy, when a
skinny girl wears it, she looks cute and comfy! I wanna be cute and comfy
darnit!!!! LOL....
— Kelly B.

A pair of pants that ZIP up and have a belt for the waistline I hope to
have someday! A nice suit that doesn't look like it has a sausage stuffed
in it! (Great question, by the way!)

Something TRASHY!! ;o) Like the outfit Christina Aguilera wears in the
video, "Dirty". LOL!!
— Cat S.

I am still pre-op and I cant wait to wear young looking clothes! Never in
my life have I ever been able to dress young, and now that I'm 43, I cant
wait to wear hip huggers (that were in when I was in high school) crop top
and I really like the idea of Christina Agulara's outfit in
"dirty" lol Everytime that video comes on my husband of 23 years
says "before long you will be wearing something like that too"
:0) For this past christmas, my family supprised me with a size 12 jean
shorts and a medium knit top so cute! I was so supprised and thrilled,
thats my first goal, and then the thong and a sexy bra...

I would love to wear a pair of pants that I bought yet have never been able
to wear. They are a buttery colored faux suede pant with cutouts and fringe
at the bottoms of the legs they are so cute that my 16 yr old would wear
them if she could! They are actually a size 22 but because of the fabric are
actually more like a 16 or 18W cant wait to wear those pants wih a black
fitted sweater that shows just a bit of tummy!

There are so mahy things. All i wear now is sweatpants or stretch pants
and T-shirts. Just to be able to wear a pair of jeans with a little
T-shirt tucked in and a belt, yes a belt, I have never worn one. Also, I
have never in the 22 years my husband and I have been together (since age
15), worn a pretty little nightie. He would be so pleased..........which
would please me. Oh, I forgot I would also like a nice little black
leather coat.

myself in one.

I bought a straight skirt size 12 when Montgomery Wards was going out of
business 4 years prior to my surgery (I'm 19 months out). I didn't realize
it was a 12 because the tag indicated 18. Every month after the surgery, I
would try the skirt. Of course it was very tight, but every month it would
loosen up a bit. Finally in October, 2002, I was able to get it on and
button and zip it up. YIPEE! I bought a shirt, jacket and shoes to go
with it. In fact, I'm getting ready to have my picture made with it on and
have it as a new picture to my profile. I can't even imagine what my
wedding dress (size 26) would look like. Maybe both of my girls can use
portions of it for their wedding dresses one day.

I saw a great sign in Dillards Department store Junior dept at the
Wellington, Florida Mall. it said Junior sizes to 13 and 1x to 3x. What
progress. The girls can shop with their friends for the same style of
clothing.

Hm. My dream closet will probably consist of cute hiphuggers with flare
bottoms, little tee shirts. Lots of Baby Phat clothing. Short shorts.
Cute, chunky shoes that take effort to pick up to put on. Lol. Let's see.
Lots of silver jewelry. Anklets. Pretty, matched bra and pantie sets. Maybe
some really sexy lingerie. And two words: vinyl pants. Lol. Hey,I am 23, I
could get away with it. hehe. I will hold to what I have always said about
not dressing like a slut when I lose weight. I will still look
respectible, yet much sexier. Oh, when can I get my surgery? *sigh*

What a great question. So fun to read people's answers and I'm still
laughing about the licorice thong...what a fabulous idea! lol..thanks for
the smiles..you people are wonderful!
— Samantha S.
January 20, 2003
Can a guy answer? I like the licorice thong idea too, as long as there is
a cutie with a sweet tooth nearby! I would really love to have one of
those thong underwear the Chippendale dancers wear! You know, the black
leather one that makes them look HUGE (you know where). I'll get one before
the end of the year!
— Robby E.
January 20, 2003
I'll have to get the tummy tuck first, but a very tight fitting slinkly
black cocktail dress that hugs the body and shows every curve. Black
leather pants sound nice too with a short white sweater and cute little
boots.

My dream outfit is ME wearing NOTHING BUT A SMILE!! Or...."She had
dumps like a truck, truck, truck / Thighs like what, what, what / All night
long / Let me see that thong........"
— Joyce C.
January 20, 2003
Well, let's see?????
My surgery is tomorrow and I am already planning what I would love to wear!
I would love to wear a red leather short jacket with a matching red leather
short skirt. And red heels. And look good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELL, IN JUNE MY WISH WAS TO FIT THESE WAY TOO LOW LEVI'S IN A JUNIORS SIZE

LOOK SO GOOD ON, SO NOW MY NEW OUT FIT IS ONE OF THOSE BACK BARING TOPS
WITH JUST THE LITTLE STRINGS, I ACTUALLY BOUGHT ONE BUT STILL HAVE SOME
TONING UP TO DO. THANKS FOR A GREAT QUESTION!!!

I would like to be able to get a evening dress for my husband's Marine
Corps Birthday Ball that has a slit all the way up the leg and just little
cut outs in the front something sexy that isn't disrespectful. I had to
spend 350$ this year to get a dress to fit and I thought I looked so great
in it all night till I got the pictures back and I looked huge, still
beautiful to hubby but not to me. I also want to be able to wear anything
in a single digit size. I am hoping for size 8 because I can always find
those on clearance, the only way to shop. Hopefully next year at this time
I will at least be on the losing side. Can't have my consult till after
September. But I am dreaming of the day!!!!!
— S C.
January 20, 2003
What a great question!!! Let's see...you mean besides a thong and Wonder
bra???? lol!!! I have this red and gold short sleeved blouse made out of
that whispy material that was popular in the seventies and eighties. I'd
like to fit into that. A tankini. Black velvet jeans with a white
turtleneck sweater. A black or wine silk sleeveless gown with a silk wrap
(oh, and strappy sandals to go with it!). I could go on and on and
on......

THIS IS THE BEST QUESTIONS!! AND THESE ARE THE BEST AND FUNNIEST ANSWERS!!!
LMFAO!! I have bought my dream outfit. IT is size 13. I even bought my
dream shoes to go with it. They are high heel black and red leather knee
high boots, a short black skirt, and a nice red blouse, a red thong and red
bra....slutty as all hell and can't wait to wear it!!!! (pre-op dreaming!)
— Marcy G.
January 20, 2003
Tight hip hugger black leather pants with a cool belly chain for that bell
button ring I am getting when I hit goal!!!!!!
— Kelly T.
January 20, 2003
Thought of another outfit! Tailored black or navy pinstriped pants with a
crisp white shirt with big french cuffs and unbuttoned down to there and up
to there hmmmm guess that only leaves one button done lol! and a cute pair
of high heeled boots.
— Lisa F.

Hi there, Kim! This is a fab question, I loved it. I have two actually.
One is a size 10 long black velvet dress with silver buttons on the side
that go down to a slit that begins at the mid-thigh. I made it a long time
ago for a friend and loved it to death, she eventually gave it back. The
second is a slinky chinese dress that I alo made in red silk and it's a
size 12. These dresses are hanging in my closest right now and is my
inspiration when I don't feel like exercising. Vi open RNY down 93 lbs.

Yesterday, I went out and bought a pair of low-rider jeans in vintage blue
that tie up the sides exposing bits of skin from ankle to waist! I'm going
to wear it with a sheer red blouse with cut-outs that exposes the sides of
my arms and red high heel boots. I think I'm going through an if you got
it-flaunt it kinda period. Of course, I'm only showing the parts without
sagging skin. No way I would expose the inside of my thighs or arms!
— Lisa N M.
January 20, 2003
This is a great question. I am pre-op and I have thought long and hard on
what I would love to wear. I want to wear a pair of hip-hugger stone
washed jeans, those cute short tops that show your belly and a belly ring.
I have never been small in my life, so I think I would love to try all the
cute stuff... :) 35yrs. old, 5'3" BMI-46 (second time teen...lol)
— Cindy P.
January 20, 2003
I have always wanted to wear a simple but elegant size 10 short black
dress, black velvet high heels and when I walk in the room heads turn my
way for a change! I started out in a 26 now in 16-18. 6 months post op, So
I know my dream is within my reach now. Thanks for the question.
— Lisa W.
January 20, 2003
My dream outfit is a pair of purple camoflauge pants with a belly shirt to
show my new tattoo that I'm going to get in Feb on my lower back. I
already wear thongs so that's nothing new. But, I think it would be cool
to wear the new pants with my thong straps showing. :0)

What a wonderful question. I have a picture of the perfect wedding dress
to renew my vows in (I hope I can afford it), and some leather pants stuck
up on my fridge since I was pre op. They are in sight now, before I
thought I was just dreaming and would never wear them. Oh, and as someone
else said to wear a nice suit that doesn't look like it has a sausage
stuffed in it. Actually my mom is a size 8-10 or she was.. a size 4 now.
She has three suede leather suits that are to big and waiting for me. I
would just be happy to wear one of them.
— MnShadows
January 21, 2003
My dream outfit is a purple leather 2-piece pant suit with a gold chain
belt and purple leather boots at a size 8-10, mind you. I have a saying you
can tell people when they seem to be jealous of your new looks..."your
hating me is motivating me!!" LOL, watch the expression on their
faces.

I wanted a pair of Levi's, a crisp plain white T-shirt, red Roper boots,
leather belt with a big buckle! Who ever thought I'd want to be a
cowgirl??? I did the jeans and t-shirt but settled for a Brighton belt and
brown boots. It was still totally awesome!

Dream Outfit? I have to pick one? Definately shopping at Victoria's
Secret for MATCHING underthings. But a black spagetti strap cocktail dress
for formal and cute jeans (12's would be unbelievable, since I've never
worn them) with a short sweater. Leather jacket would be a must (because
then I won't resemble the cow the leather came off of!)
— CrystalBroj
January 21, 2003
Great question. For work, I'd like a cute purple suit that made me look
sophisticated and polished and as young as I feel (I'm 43 and used to look
50ish). For my hubby, a black dress or leather jacket with nicely fitted
dress pants--underneath sexy lingerie--not foundation garments lol. I'd
love to be able to shop for a size consistently and not have the range of
6-7 sizes that I currently have in my closet! (Open rny 12/2 down to a
14/16 from a 20/22)
— Mary Ann B.
January 21, 2003
heya hun.. love the question and the answers.. i have a couple of
dreams..first to fit back into my wedding dress so i can have real wedding

victoria's secret or fredricks and by lingeri off the shelf.. lol.. like

I am 11 days post op and down 13lbs. I want to wear white!! White jeans and
a cute white nurses outfit. I am in nursing school. I wanna look good in
"white" instead of always wearing black to slim me. I may never
wear that color again!!!
— Wendy K.
January 21, 2003
Ok, I just have to answer again. I thought of something else. This is the
ONLY guy who has answered this question. Besides what I said below, when my
"apron" is gone, I REALLY want to wear my suit around the house
all the time. The suit I want to wear is my birthday suit! Can't wait to
look good in THAT!
— Robby E.

A pair of black leather pants or dark jeans, a black fitted turtle neck,
big silver hoop earrings, black leather kick-ass boots with matching black
leather belt with big decorative buckle. This has been my dream outfit for
about 15 years. With surgery just a wekk away, maybe the dream will come
true!
— Natalie N.
January 21, 2003
I'm not much into clothes but even I have a couple dream things I'd like to
wear! One is a pair of jeans WITHOUT elastic! The other is a
medieval/renaissance type long gown - the type with the long sleeves and
long belt - like you saw in the Lord of the Rings movies and such.
Hopefully I can be small enough by Fall to wear such a dress at the
Maryland Renaissance Festival!!
— Pamela R.

curvy hips and slender legs :)

Okay...call me crazy but all my dream outfits go with a specific scenario
and it seems that each of those scenarios end up with me waking up in some
beautiful island house facing the beach wearing nothing but some CEO's
button down shirt and a smirk...Think 'The Thomas Crown Affair'
— Michelle S.

I didn't realize we are such a bunch of leather-heads! Love it! I think
an itsy-bitsy, teany-weennie, yellow polka dot bikini may do it for me--in
leather of course! LOL! Ka.
