My surgeon bypasses 100cm on EVERY patient. He says it puts us all on an
even playing field so that the surgery can't be questioned if different
people have different results. I guess it is a controlled study of sorts.
Anyhow, at my last support group there was a man there who has lost 300
pounds SO FAR!!!!!! His BMI was near 80 I think. There are women at support
group at goal as well and they were in your BMI range for sure! Good
Luck!!!

Hi! I think I started out with a BMI of 47 or so, and I think my surgeon
only bypassed 90 cm. I'm almost 9 months out and I've lost about 120 lbs
since surgery. I couldn't be happier with my results! I think as long as
you follow a healthy diet and exercise program, you can't help but to be
successful. Good luck:0).

Hi! I am 8 months out, and down 100+ lbs. My surgeon also bypasses 100 cm
on all patients. He says that the studies show that this is the right
amount to secure weight loss without high health risks. I trusted his
judgement, and I am doing fine. Good luck!
